I am going to start hosting a
monthly role playing event called the Tavern Crawl. This event was inspired by the Tavern League Initiation during the wonderful Summer Festival that was recently held. (Anyone in attendance is encouraged to don their Tavern League Member title for the duration of the event, though it is not required.) The event will be held at the various taverns of the Shire, and will go something like this:
- Player Vendors will be set up at each tavern on the tour. (Not every tour will include every tavern. I hope to make things more interesting by doing different tours at each event. For instance, one tour might include the Bird and Baby, Ivy Bush and the Green Dragon... then the next month would be the Floating Log, Plough and Stars, Golden Perch, etc.) By Player Vendors I mean people of Landroval who specialize in crafting a type of food, ale or pipeweed and would like to showcase their goods at each tavern on the tour. Attendees of the event could then purchase samples (or bulk quantities) of each vendor's goods.
- Player Vendors will be stationed at their designated taverns. Attendees will meet at a pre-specified "starting" tavern to greet one another. After a bit of fun, we will move on to the next tavern. I will take a moment at each tavern to introduce the Player Vendors and to share a bit about that tavern's history and local brew. After that, attendees have free reign and can pretty much make the event into whatever they'd like it to be. Singing, dancing, story-telling... all is welcome. However, there will probably be a time limit on how long we spend at each tavern before moving on.
This event, again, is a monthly (not a weekly) event. I will announce the date it is to be held one month in advance. Be sure to check the calendars on

www.lotrofaces.com for updates. The first ever Tavern Crawl will most likely be held during this month's server wide event week.
I am looking for Player Vendors who are interested in showcasing their goods at this role playing event. I need people who are willing to hang out in the Shire for the duration of the event, and man their stations at least 5 minutes prior to the tour's arrival at their designated tavern. I would prefer people who take pride in their goods and who could use a bit of advertising to expand their business. That way, if Tavern Crawl attendees wanted to buy food, ale or pipeweed in between events, they would know who to contact. I'd also prefer Grand Masters of each tier (namely, Cooking and Farming) though I won't make that a requirement. However, I'd like to have as much variety available for our guests as possible.
Needed items are various kinds of ales, pipeweed and foodstuffs. Pies would be especially welcomed since there are so many different kinds, and eating a certain amount of each kind can earn you the Pie Maven title... an added incentive for people to attend. Any other types of vendors will also be considered for the event if you choose to volunteer. I have not yet decided if I will hire different Player Vendors for each Tavern Crawl or if I will try to maintain regular Player Vendors for every one. Probably a mix of both.
