Today, Dell announced that we have signed a definitive agreement for Dell to acquire EqualLogic. This is a very exciting event for us, and also represents a great opportunity for our channel partners.
Dell sees EqualLogic as a catalyst for realizing its vision to Simplify and Virtualize IT, working with partners like you, globally. The development of a channel of solutions partners is part of Dell’s overall strategy, to be accelerated by the acquisition of EqualLogic.
Once the acquisition is completed, Dell intends to continue to build on EqualLogic’s successful channel partner programs. Not only will EqualLogic products be available through channel partners, Dell intends to grow EqualLogic as a successful channel brand going forward. EqualLogic will be core to Dell’s strategy of delivering partner-friendly brands and products in the future.
As Michael Dell said in today’s press release, Dell intends to lead the iSCSI revolution. The combination of EqualLogic’s leadership iSCSI SAN technology and Dell’s global reach and brand recognition may mean enhanced business opportunities for solutions partners.
